Born 1944 in Yokohama.
In 1974, he drew recognition in mass media as a kiriga-artist,
and
was head illustrator for the book published
by Shueisha Wicked Street Sermons by Kon Toko.
Later,
he created his unique artistic world through the development of original KIRIGA techniques
( intricate cutting of a single material, often paper )
and garnered fame as a"Japanese KIRIGA artist."
Among his many well known works are
Japanese Festival,
Portrait of a Samurai,
Pilgrimage to 88 Temples in Shikoku,
Flower Mandala,
Amida Buddha,
Sangokushi,
and
The Hasedera Temple.
In 1992
at the sectarian head-quarters of Vatican,
he presented the Pope with his work、
"Cut Prints of the Hasedera Temple"
wich in now
in the collection of the Guimet National Museum of Art, Paris.
